Internal Quality Assurance Cell

The college has a very active Internal Quality Assurance Cell.

Placement and Career Guidance Cell

The college has established a placement cell to help students to find jobs for them. The college has a career guidance cell to guide students regarding career perspective.

Women Saferty & Empowerment Cell

Women Safety and Empowerment is very vital for the wll being of nation. A women Safety club is being established in this session 2015-16. Aim of this club would be to generate awareness and install self confidence among girl students of the college. Extension lectures and other effective measures would be taken to esnure that girl students are well equipped with adequate knowledge, information and awareness about their rights. Special efforts are being made to sensitize the girl students on issues of safety and self defence. The mobile phone no. of the convenor of this cell (094789-36957) has been circulated among the girl students in this regard.

Legal Literacy Club

Legal Literacy Club has been established in the collge in the session 2015-16. Two clubs have beenworking in this college. The aim of the club is to make the students aware of their rights and at the same time, the evils which are prevailing in the society. To pursue this aim, a seminar was organised by the college in collabration with District & Session Court Sangrur. This seminar was presided over by Mr. M.S. Chauhan, District & Session Judge. Legal Aid Clinics being proposed to be established in this college by the D.P.I. Colleges Chandigarh. With the establishment of this clinic, the college will be able to provide free legal aid to the needy students.

Cell for the Welfare of Handicapped Students

The cell gives information to the concerned students about govt. schemes for their welfare.

Anti Narcotic Club

This club organizes lectures and a seminar to get the students refrained away from intoxication.

P.T.A.

Parents Teachers Association has been working since long. Despite of providing clean drinking water to students and staff, this association has its considerable contribution in operating academic and cultural activities in the college. All expenses are met by the association after getting resolution passed by the executive of Parents Teachers Association. The college Principal use to be an ex-office President of the association where as Vice-President is elected by the parents.

Alumni Club

There is an association of old students known as Alumni Club. This club works for all round development of the college. Any of student of this college can become the member of this club.

N.C.C.

There is one platoon of National Cadet Corps in the college for boys. NCC develops the all round personality of the cadets. It is two years training. It is compulsary for the cadets to attend 35 parades out of 40 every year. The examinations for 'B' and 'C' certificates are held in the first and second year respectively.

The students get the oppertunity to participate in Trekking, Youth Exchange Programme, Parasailing, Paratrooping and Mountaineering etc. The cadets who pass the 'C' certificate exam are exempted from appearing in the written examination of army courses. Fixed marks are also given at the time of admission to higher studies and the time of interview jobs.

To inculcate the feeling of Society Service and National Unity, Govt. College, Malerkotla has installed seven units. The college runs five financed and two self financed units. There is a seperate unit for girls.

Youth Red Cross Society

The is an Youth Red Cross Society in this college. In this society 100 girls and boys work as volunteers in the form of unit. The chief motive of Youth Red Cross is to serve humanity. At the time of natural disasters the volunteers provides their services for humanity and thus the feeling of doing good for all is inculcated in them.

College Magazine

College Magazine 'The Clarion' is being published every year since the establishment of the college. This magazine plays a vital role in voicing emotions of the students artistically. The magazine is the spokesman of students' literary, educational and cultural spirit. Achievers of all fields are accredited in this magazine.

College Functioning

There is a complete decentralization of work division among the college staff. There are atleast thirt-five committees, which take up college task. There is one convenor for every committee. There is a college council of five senior most members. There is one Bursar.

UGC

College is actively following the instructions of the UGC, New Delhi and making and sending proposals to utilize grants for the development of the college.

P-Step

P-STEP (Punjab Skill Training for Employment Potential) is an initiative of the Department of Higher Education facilitated by Punjab InfoTech. The programme aims at the increasing the scope of employment for students in the state, especially with the service industry. Apart from the curriculum are various aspects in which a student needs to be trained in order to facilitate a smooth transition from the classroom to the workplace. P-STEP aims at exactly achieving the same for its students.

NAC TECH :

NAC-Tech has been concieved as an industry standard assessment and certification program to ensure the transforming of a "trainable" workforce into an "employee" workforce, hence creating robust and continous pipeline of talent for the IT/Engineering industry. It is targeted at final year and pre-final year students, who will be seeking employment oppertunities in the IT/Engineering sector.

EDUSAT

Underlining the educational benefits of the students, Govt. College, Malerkotla started the online EDUSAT programme initiated by UGC. As per the schedule designed by the Additional Director (INTECH), the online lectures on different topics by the resource persons are being delivered to the corresponding students of the subjects related to their syllabii.

Higher Education Institute Society H.E.I.S. (Regd.)

The college has been running Self-Financing course B.C.A. under H.E.I.S. , a registered body since 2006. The college has two computer labs fully air-conditioned for this purpose. The college has fully equipped with library consir=sting of relevant quality books. Department of Computer has recruited five qualified lecturers with excellent teaching skills. This society works under the guidance of Board of Governors. The Principal of the college is the Chairperson of the society.
